I dread asking questions like this, but what's that on the front of the bonnet of LYO836?

On Sunday I took a group of Somerset and Wiltshire members on a run to Hawnby(pub stop), over Snilsworth Moor to my home village of Osmotherley and back to the rally site via the back lanes of Borrowby and Knayton.

They are Amber ( if memory serves) flashing lights fitted to Civil Defence Auxiliary Fire Land Rovers and probably other Civil Defence vehicles such as Austin Gypsys. |

Strang, I am a new member who would like to use the excellent image of Series I PAC 518 "Isis" and PAC 519 "Granta" on display at LRSOC Jarvik 2024. My use would be in an e-book that I am developing about air ferry companies that transported vehicles over the English Channel from the late 1940s-early 1970s. The requested image would be paired with one showing both Series I Station Wagons Isis and Granta loading into a Silver City Airways Bristol Freighter at the start of the 1954 Trans-Africa Expedition by Oxford and Cambridge students, thus showing the vehicles in the past and present. I appreciate your time in reviewing and responding to this inquiry.

HI Coolio761, yes of course, please help yourself to them, and thanks for asking - I think most people just pinch them. Euro-Leafing to infinity and beyond.....
