Flappy paddles
Has anybody fitted the flappy paddles themselves and managed to activate them using the Gap IID tool yet? I've had a search but can't find an answer.

Thanks Thumbs Up

Simon at PowerfulUK has done it, I'm sure I've seen a YT video of it. You'd need the paddles and a steering wheel with the paddle recesses and also modify the CCF. Does this link help? https://www.powerfuluk.com/collections/new...ated-wheel Current vehicle: 2020 Defender 110S

I've fitted them myself but had to get them activated by David at Hunters as when I fitted them the IID tool was only on release G3, Patrick had said that if I waited for the G4 I would have been able to do it but I was too impatient. Laughing

Cheers for that, but unfortunately they've not managed to find how to activate them yet.

Cheers Ian, how are you finding the Alcantara on the wheel holding up? I really like the look of it but wasn't sure how well it would wear.
As you fitted them yourself would you be able help and confirm what's needed, I'm guessing a new wheel and the paddles, however I've already got a heated wheel fitted so wasn't sure if I need the switch pack and wiring harness that are included in the kit sold by Powerful or not. Thanks Thumbs Up

Hi, the wheel is holding up great it's been on there for just over a year and there aren't any visible signs of wear, it's even been covered in mud when off roading and it just brushes off when it's dry.

You will need the steering wheel, two paddles and I'm pretty sure the screws for the paddles don't come with them. If you already have the heated steering wheel you don't need the switch pack, at least I didn't, but you will need the harness as there are two extra electrical connectors, one for each paddle.

In the Powerful video he shows taking the steering wheel bezel off to remove the airbag and wheel, if you have an auto adjusted steering wheel this is a right pain in the backside Twisted Evil I actually managed to work out how to remove the airbag without taking the bezel off using one of these.

Remember to disconnect the battery when working with the airbag Thumbs Up Cheers Ian

That's brilliant Ian, thanks very much. You don't happen to have the part number for the harness do you? spent a while going round in circles this morning trying to find the correct one. I've emailed GAP to hopefully find out if I can activate the paddles using the IDD tool. If so I'll probably go for the Alcantara wheel now after what you said Thumbs Up

Off the top of my head no and I can't find the invoice for the parts, I did notice on the kit that Powerful supply they show the harness as LR142723 but I couldn't say whether that is correct or not. I suppose you could email Powerful and ask if that is the harness they used, but they are saying you need the switch pack and I definitely didn't replace mine so not sure whether I would take their word for it Confused Cheers Ian

Thanks for looking and the information Ian. I've since had a reply from GAP and they don't know if the paddles can be activated so I'm going to put this one on the back burner for the moment. Thumbs Up

Hi.

I'm trying to fit paddles to my vehicle Model X D300 MY23.5 but still no luck. Sad

I have bought compatible steering wheel from Hunters and
LR139904,LR139905 (paddles) and LR142723 (harness) from LR CENTRE.
I believe that it is correctly parts.

Plugged all connectors then activate two CCF items with G4 Gap Tool.
MultiCAN-536 GearboxPaddlesInDrive
MultiCAN-537 SWSGearSelectors

Everything of switches works properly except paddles Big Cry

Any ideas?

northeye if you want to send me over a copy of your ccf file I will compare it to mine and see if there are any notable difference. I'll PM you my email

Also are you sure that you plugged everything in, I know there was one very small connector that I missed on my first fitting Thumbs Up Cheers Ian

Hi Ian.

I've just PMed my ccf.

No connectors missed plugging I believe.
Many times verified with watching PowerfulUK's YT.
Both switch packs left one and right two, heater, 2 GNDs, blue one to bracket and of course small two for paddles.

I'm worried that it 's not yet possible with the GAP G4 maybe.

Hello.

Since I checked the Live Values of TCM - "Gear Shift Paddle Status in Drive" and it was always disabled, I thought that CCF relearn is required for TCM maybe.
So I did TCM-Module "Allow Central Configuration Data Learning" from the Service/Test Menu, but the operation was failed.
The same operation for DADC was successful BTW.

Perhaps the G4 tool is not (yet) possible TCM CCF relearn or something is wrong, I'm not sure though. Crying or Very sad

still work in progress...
