Isn't that controlled in the Drivers assist menu? If so there is a possibility of having it remember last user setting with GAP tool but it has not been confirmed. I tried but with no luck.

do you have the 'side' sensors (like the front/rear parking sensors), that look for that very occasion.

lt's a 2022 base model 90 Commercial
You can turn off the "emergency braking" in the menu but it turns itself back on next time you use the vehicle. l don't want to completely disable the feature, just have the option to leave it turned off. |

Travelling back home after 2000 seamless miles across france last week, I was half a mile from home, following a cyclist at a safe distance at maybe 10mph in heavy traffic. Without any intention of overtaking, not gaining or catching up on the cyclist, without the cyclist swerving or moving in front of me. All of a sudden the emergency brakes initiated without even the warning alarm or time to react. It slammed on the anchors with 6 adults and my 10 month old in the baby seat. The alarm came on half a second after the brakes initiated. The chap behind almost rear ended us. Completely unnecessary. I was absolutely fuming.
It's happened 5-6 times now and it has honestly put me at more risk of accidents than I've ever had driving without this automation. In at least 1 in 10 journeys I get 'ghost' obstacles in my sensors when starting up the vehicle. Especially if I need to reverse first. The sensors simply aren't good enough to be trusted to jam the anchors on. I manually turn the stupid thing off whenever I remember. Even more annoyingly, when parking with the offroad cameras, it'll happily let you drive into inanimate objects. So for me, it works when I don't want it to, and it doesn't work when I do. In the same vein, earlier this week, I had the collision avoidance alarm pop up and I instinctually pressed the brake - A second later I realised it was warning me of a vehicle BEHIND me. Who I'm sure was approaching me too quickly, and definitely DIDN'T expect me to randomly whack on the brakes! There should be a completely different alarm warning of rear collision risks vs front collision risks. |

I had a similar thing recently with a cyclist - I think it was as I went to overtake the car slammed on the brakes.
I've got a dashcam now mainly because I'm expecting this system to one day cause an accident and I want to be able to prove it wasn't my fault. |
