New leak
Hi all, I have a 2015 puma, and it has started leaking. I have removed the passengers lower speaker and can see water dripping off the fan duct boxing bolted to the bulk head. This then drips on to a bare metal bracket, which acts as a gutter until full and drips on the floor. How involved is it to renew the gasket against the bulk head as there is very little wiggle room in there. I can not feel any moister around the intake boxing so am thinking its the gasket. Thanks

The usual challenge of keeping oil inside and water outside Very Happy

Mine 2007 had exactly the same issue and it turned out to be the screen hinges leaking. A good clean and generous sealer and it was all right again.

I add the "Defender Water Ingress" if you need a bit of reading material.

Do you still have the small rubber trims that are adjacent to the bulkhead and sit against the bonnet edge. (They are simply stuck on). They were fitted in the final few years I think and actually do a good job of stopping water cascading over the wing tops onto the bulkhead etc.

See bottom right corner of this photo (not mine) for the trim https://www.defender2.net/gallery/albums/u...G_5193.JPG

I do, they are both present, once the water has dried out from trying to find the leak I was going to silicone the edges as water still runs down the rear of them on the bulk head. They stop probably 90% of water at present.

Be careful with silicon, some will corrode metal. Butyl rubber sealant would be good for your application.

Hi

I had a similar situation and replaced the the gasket behind the two screen billets and then used Captain Tolleys Creeping Crack Cure around the screen seal. This appeared to have stopped any leaks.

I had to replace the seal between the heater and bulkhead. Access was terrible. I ended up having to remove the whole wing Sad

Theoretically you should be able to remove the inlet (mounted to top of wing) and then be able to access the blower and remove. I found that there was no room to wriggle it out from under the wing. I even tried removing the wing side panel, which should give the correct access, but one of the bolts holding that on was inaccessible behind the heater inlet.

Might have been ineptitude on my part or bad luck with the build tolerances of my car, but in the end the whole wing had to come off.

So try everything else first Very Happy

Hi Budstruck, having had a good look at access, the seal will be a last resort.
