2022 P300 Oil Change
Has anyone done this on their own yet? I have 8,000 miles in mine and don’t want to wait til 21,000. I have all the oil and parts but was wondering if sucking the oil out is realistic or is it easier/better to just go through the drain plug.

Although it is satisfying to see hot oil gush out of the drain, sucking it out is way more easy and convenient. I had a few LR3 and 4 and they have skid plates which makes it even more cumbersome to get to the drain plug so I bought a large sucker. One day I tried to see how much was left behind the drain plug and not a drip came out.

In the end if you change frequently enough there will be no sludge and you just replace 99% of the dirty oil with new fresh oil. So for your convenience I would say extract the oil by suction and replace with correct oil and you be doing your engine a huge favour.

Make it yourself easy and install the Fumoto drainplug .
See this thread on Landrover forums.com

I did make one hole wider in the under plating for even quicker draining with a tube.
