You can have it enabled for ยฃ250 at Hunters Prestige. Iโm sure other places do it too. Or you could buy a GAP IID tool and do it yourself therefore the tool is almost paid for and you can enable so much more on top. Iโm deffo getting one but canโt justify the cost to the wife just yet. 24MY D300 130 X-Dynamic HSE Santorini Black

Each to their own.
I sit in drive in auto in my truck with brake on stationary watching gbox temp and it goes up. I put it in neutral and it doesn't. Increase in temp. I am sure it's happy to do it, I am just not happy it does it. Cheers James 110 2012 XS Utility 130 2011 M57 bespoke Camper 90 2010 Hardtop 90 M57 1988 Hardtop |

lt's interesting that the gearbox temperature rises, l guess it will as it's essentially working. So long as the temperature doesn't rise significantly it wouldn't worry me.
lf l am going to be stationary for more than about a minute, such as at a railway crossing, l'll put the transmission into Park. l've tried N but then you have to either hold it on the brake or use the handbrake as well to stop it rolling. |

If you have auto hold on, the engine stops until you apply throttle.
Nothing heats up at all. Simples. I spent about 5 hours plus on the M25 yesterday in stop start traffic and still achieved 29.8mpg due in part to the stop/start system. Crawling for miles and still remained more efficient than my wifeโs old Mini. I only once had to apply throttle to pull away. How very civilised. ๐๐ป 24MY D300 130 X-Dynamic HSE Santorini Black |

Only if you choose it to be so.
I let it do its thing and never give it another thought. So relaxing. ๐ 24MY D300 130 X-Dynamic HSE Santorini Black |

Renault are currently advertising a car that has 'Up to 30 Driver Assist Systems". Seems that is what car manufactures thinks sells cars ??

The universe has moved on quite a bit since the 90s County Defender. Went camping for the weekend, towing about 2.7t of new caravan. The van park has quite a steep entrance way (I estimate at least 35deg slope). Drove up and had to park on the incline to go and check in, etc. Simple press of the park button, do the thing, get the site details, etc, and then have to pull away further up the incline to get into the park. Car didn't hesitate, could feel the tc locking up nice and early, so seamless and effortlessly pulling away. Cant imagine doing it that easy in a manual with 2.7t hanging off the tail....

after driving manual cars for over 50yrs, I find it 'wrong' in driving an automatic.
if you want to go Forwards, you pull the stick backwards and Reverse is forwards. Now what bright spark of automotive history designed that !!! |

But oddly it's remarkably intuitive, as was the rotary knob on my D4. Eiger Grey MY23 D250 SE with bits. Known as Noddy.
