Like running up a tarmac hill in rugby boots!

Surprisingly quiet but definitely have an effect on acceleration (and probably fuel).

Need to turn in the steering stops tomorrow as they just catch at the moment.

Still amazed at how smooth your TD5 transmission is compared to my Puma. You'll have to take mine for a spin Steve Thumbs Up

( Cool windowlicker)

Laughing rugby boots!

I thought they'd be a hell of a lot more noisier, compared to the oe tyres.

As for 'quiet td5' I bet your back door doesn't rattle. I need a spare wheel carrier.

Windowlicker - do the Twisted 16" with 265 Duratrac's stand proud of the arches? I notice on there site that the 16's only come with an ET0

Looked at as a true side on profile, the sidewall tread stands proud of the arches.
The actual "flat" road contact patch finishes bang on the edge of the arch spat.

I guess the ideal wold have been to stick to 235 Duratracs which would have been perfect.

I have recently modified the Mudflaps front and rear, moving them outboard by around 2" , so they are now effectively similar in offset to the outer edge of the tread.

There has been a bit of a form over function end result Embarassed and I guess the narrower option would have been more sensible Whistle
Either way, the masses of extra lock available with the twisted wheels makes a huge difference to low speed manoeuvrability Thumbs Up "Procrastination is the thief of time"

Overfinch alloys
Hi

Has anyone bought or used the 18" Overfinch Apollo alloys (below)?

Any views?

Generally what is the impact in ride quality (on the road, sorry!! Very Happy ) changing from standard Boosts/235 Contis to an 18" wheel with 265s?

Thanks Lambley, had a look. Pretty good aren't they!

I wonder what the change in ride quality is like between 18 and 16.... 2015 Overfinch Defender XS 90

Is there any noticeable difference between a 265/75 R16 and a 265/70 R16?

I realise the profile will be a bit lower but is it enough to make a real difference in the handling?

Thanks Thumbs Up

I don't think you'd notice the difference tbh but they'd be nearly an inch smaller diameter, I'd stick to 75's because there's also more choice of tyres. It also depends on the type of tyre and sidewall. If you want a stiffer ride then swap to 18's maybe?
Have you sold or swapped your wheels/tyres now then? What are you replacing them with?

Does anyone know where I can get some 285/75R16 Duratracs, they're like hen's teeth to find. Also i'd like to raise the front of my 110 by an inch or so to match the clearance on the rear. Any ideas? Oh, My current rather boring setup of Conti A/Ts and Sawtooth wheels.
