@eric:
Yes, still G-cruising, due to long distance business journeys where the Defender wasn't the perfect choice. But still very LR-hearted and I'm very sure that there will be another Defender in the family sometime. At least I bought one of the last FL2 for the wife to stay in contact! Actually permanently reading here on the forum to cure the 'no defender illness'!

@ jim_beam:

as requested: first pic no spacers, 235 as she came from the factory

second step: 235 tires, 30mm spacers and lowered suspension (to be able to use car parcs)

next evolution: 265 tires

Wheel spacers: had no issues with them, absolutely no wobbles during 75.000 km. And I have some on my G-Wagon, no problems here too. Just make sure to buy some with good quality, had some made bei Matzker, not cheap, but very good!

If you combine the spacers with adjusting the steering stops it gives you more steering lock and helps manoeuvrability Thumbs Up 2014 110 2.2TDCi XS Station wagon

And in addition to the better turning cicle it gives a more stable ride. Probably not necessary when driving in the city but the wider track in combination with the lowered suspension, broad tires, small steering wheel, speed unlimiter and big intercooler gave her an incredible good and direct (but hard) ride in the autobahn curves even with high speed around 160 kmh, really big fun!

Thanks...I think it's better white lettering in at the moment. If I change my mind I can put the old set back on.

The deciding factor for me placing the letters innermost was this recent picture. I think it looks as cool as polar bear poo!

Thanks Lambley... Thumbs Up

I was bored with black. Most people have black, white, anthracite or silver (except Sailing Tom). I think it may have been Landlord that had a blue set of Mach 5s but I warmed to a different colour. Not too outlandish but something that may look ok against the stornoway grey and possibly be unique. I am happy with them and have complimented them by replacing the amber filters on my Lightforce 240XGTs with blue ones. Will post a picture once finished fitting the spare.

What about your Mach 5s Venomator? Any plans yet? If you decide to knock them on 'fist dibs' please! Laughing Cool

""EDIT""

Wasn't Landlord it was his truck that was blue not his wheels...... Embarassed

My vote goes to the 18" Bowler wheels
Then the sawtooths

I have just purchased this new 90 (pre specced) and it has 18" maxxtrac manta in anthracite but I think I may swap to sawtooths or the bowlers.

Looking really good Mal. Like the colour it works well, im back to boring satin black for the time although that may change.
Let us know how the beads go after a few good trips as still something ill do, maybe to another set though. Thumbs Up
