was in my local dealer this morning, guy salmon in Bristol.....rear utility mat cost.
I asked how much the first service would be. £413...................................................... after a rather pregnant pause, i ask what was done for the money. 2.2hours labour, oil was over £100 , the rest of the time is doing checks. well ell well i'm quite speechless. i'll call Ford and ask how much a tranisit 2.4 first service is shall i? |

If you go the independent route make provision to get the corrosion inspection section stamped in the service book too. Steve.
Owned numerous Land Rover vehicles of all shapes and sizes over the decades. Current Defender: A non tarts hand-bagged Puma 110 XS USW. [Insert something impressive here such as extensive list of previous Land Rovers or examples of your prestigeous and expensive items, trinkets, houses, bikes, vehicles etc] http://forums.lr4x4.com I used to be Miserable ...but now I'm ecstatic. |

I was quoted £604 by one dealer and £606 by another for my 40k mile service.
I had a VERY thorough job done by my Indy (they spotted stuff that showed they were incredibly diligent) for £360. The fact they spotted a couple of major warranty items probably saved me twice that cost too. They did a brilliant job re-sealing the windscreen and Waxoyling too (for only £140!) and each time I see a bill I think "is that all?!" Defender 110XS SW gone... now VW California 180 4 Motion. |

£328.06 for 12k (first) service next week. They don't do sales, just servicing, and are as officially LR as a sales franchise. (Still a robbing price mind you!) D300 HSE 110 |

My bill for a 36.000 mile service, which is the same as the 12.000 mile service came to £249.10.
My bill for the more extensive 24.000 mile service came to £353.12. Excellent service, full receipt, service sheet itemised and a visual health check sheet ticked as well. Main dealer T.P Topping Enniskillen. Well worth the 4 hour round trip. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel 1992 110 200tdi csw -Zikali 2008 110 2.4 tdci csw-Zulu 2011 110 2.4 tdci csw-Masai |

I suppose this is to ensure you have corrosion in all the usual places! Seriously though, is there really a section in the schedule to do corrosion inspection and a seperate stamp in the book? Pete |
