Really like the look of those! Are they galv underneath? Or just powder coated? Very tempted . . . Admin note: this post has had its images recovered from a money grabbing photo hosting site and reinstated ![]() |

Just powder coated....I'd wish i just got them bear and got them galved and powder coated myself...the finish is great and when they peel if they do or i knock them then i can get them done for free anyway
![]() but well worth the money ![]() Had them on now for a good 8 mouths with know sign off any peeling or rust showing through...also been off roading a few times in them NEVER TAKE LIFE SERIOUSLY. NOBODY GETS OUT ALIVE ANYWAY |

Tolley there is a wide range of suppliers out there and a wide range of prices
Personally I would not touch underbody or side body protection which has not been galvanised. We use our vehicles as they were meant to be used. This means that the protection gear is used as it is meant to be used and takes knocks and bumps. Any decorative finish is damaged. That is when having them galvanised pays off. If you want them just for looks then buy on price alone. If you are going to use the tree slider as a step get some anti slip tape and fixed it to the top. Don't take it around the outside surface, as that can prove painful if you wear shorts. ![]() Brendan |

Well the bumpers on our Disco are rusting as we have scrapped them on the odd dry stone wall etc.
The chances are they will be coming off in the next few months, get stripped, galvanised and then powder coated. Brendan PS Please remember powder coating sticks better to plain metal then galv |

I had galv ones on the 90, quality of fit and welds etc was spot on but they black powder coating came away if you looked at them. John

It would probably be better to prime and paint galvanised ones. That way, they could easily be touched up when inevitably scratched. Darren

ask you powder coater to acid prime first, the bumper i make can be hit with a hammer and the powder coat won't budge, also make sure they are cured right.
a lot of p coaters only melt the paint and don't leave in the oven long enough to cure it. a 110 rock slider out of 2.5- 3mm awl steel and 2mm walled tube(tree sliders) should take 1 hour 25 mins on average, dependant on powder finish and make. |

Got mine from safari equi real heavy duty but if you get galvanised ones ask them to get them powder coated at pm coatings Elland as the other coaters these use are crap but if you just go for powder coat they get them done there anyway

I ended up going the DIY route:
![]() Click image to enlarge ![]() Click image to enlarge ![]() Click image to enlarge ![]() Click image to enlarge I used 50x100 box section, with 50mm tube, and 10x10 square steel as a filler on top of the box section to close up the gap between the sliders and the doors.
