Moving on to my next issue I have heavy steering as been like this since I have owned. About 2 years how can I tell if I have duff box swivels brakes track rods damper all changed this year but still stiff steering virtually no return to centre box's looks fairly new no leaks fluid moving in resevoir. Any advice appreciated again! thanks to all who keep advising me Iain Endeavour To Persevere

Have you actually taken the shaft with the uj's off and checked if they are stiff or notchy?, also you could try disconnecting the balljoint at the drop arm at the steering box see how that feels, also disconnect ball joints at both stub axles and feel if there's any tightness there. I had a bad experience with recon steering boxes so ended up buying a new Adwast box. But I'm sure there are some good reconditioners out there. good luck hope you get it sorted

Well for reference my problem was a build up of mud in the steering uj
Quick blast with wd40 and then some oil sorted it out. Last edited by sykes705 on 6th Feb 2024 6:36am. Edited 1 time in total |
