Just a quick introduction...
Ever since I was a little boy watching the Born Free movies, a Land Rover was one of my dream cars to own. Pictured is my first Defender which I picked up for £3000 after winning it unseen at an ebay auction. It was "painted" in Raptor unfortunately not with the right prep underneath. Someone had cut a whole into the roof to use it for shooting. I enjoyed that vehicle a lot and every time you sat behind the wheel it felt like I imagined it was when rescueing Elsa in the said Born Free movies (the mind is a powerful thing). Sadly with Covid and the first lockdown, I lost my job and had to sell the Land Rover. This year though, I'll turn 55 in May and some of my pension savings will help me get another Defender to keep on living my dream (although that occasionally might turn into a nightmare). Looking forward to learn a thing or two and to generally meet some nice people. |

Welcome! I like the look of that. I've been tempted to paint mine the same...

Make sure you prep the surface well! It looked brilliant on mine from the distance. If you got closer you could feel how the paint was delaminating from the metal below in large slabs... Not cool. But it certainly made it look the part. for some reason I was given priority on pretty much every mini roundabout. |
