This morning I started the 2008 2.4 Puma and began to take off. Suddenly there was a power surge and she shot forward. Luckily I was in my drive and not behind someone! Has'nt done it since.
She was in to the maindealer recently for injector seals to be changed and a replacement EGR valve amongst other work. I'm not saying this has anything to do with the power surge. The dealer did say that she had cut out on them while iidling (which never happened to me). Is the power surge and rough idling indicative of the VCV ? She does sound different with the new EGR and injector seals. All fluids and filters were also done so I don't suspect a blocked filter. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel 1992 110 200tdi csw -Zikali 2008 110 2.4 tdci csw-Zulu 2011 110 2.4 tdci csw-Masai |

I had the same, new VCV cured the rough idling and surging.

I could not run the pilot correction after changing the VCV on a 2.4. EDIT I would like to know the effects of not doing the mentioned procedure. Thx Puma 110" SW ............................................................. Earth first. Other planets later |

Really not necessary. Mine have the VCV change years ago, and we didn't do the pilot correction. No significant issues or noticeable problems with that. Cheers! Eduardo MY 2007 110 SW PUMA 2.4: Big Fog of 64' MY 1994 Jayco 1207 Folding camper: "El Tremendo" Click image to enlarge |
