Performance intercooler on rebuilt engine
Hi All,

Having my engine rebuilt and while it's out, thinking of fitting a performance intercooler.

Just wanting to know will fitting and using a performance intercooler effect a newly built engine, given there will be no tune etc. Reason for fitting is that I'm wanting to tune it once the engine is properly run in.

Anyone any advice? Will it effect how the engine runs etc?

Cheers

I fitted a bas intercooler to mine in standard form ...my thinking was that whatever map you are running will just use the air intake temp to adjust fuelling whatever map you run..no adverse effects noticed when it was the standard map..

I did the same some time back. Fitting a larger intercooler won't have any adverse effects and makes little to no difference to performance without an appropriate tune. Darren

I did this alongside lots of other performance enhancing bits. Did it just under twelve months ago following a home rebuild. No adverse effects.
