Something that has sparked my interest recently is the adaptor chassis offered by Marsland. As far as I can tell, the only difference is that in lieu of engine mounts, threaded plates are welded to the chassis legs, enabling you to fabricate and bolt in engine mounts to suit your application.
Has anyone purchased one? I'm beginning to wonder if I should gone down this road when buying my 130 chassis - the ability to change engine mounts without grinding and welding a galvanised chassis is appealing, especially with the plethora of engine swap options. 1985 127 V8 Build Thread Series 2 109" Series 1 80" |

I've just placed an order! I spoke with them on a few occasions before ordering to check what comes on the adapter chassis, gearbox mounts and rad mounts etc. Both the office and fabrication side were very helpful 1989 90 4.3 V8

Apprently no gearbox mounts if adaptor spec and TD5/TDCI rad mounts no variation is possible has they are only produced to Land Rover specification. |

That makes sense I guess, I think the TDCI/TD5 rad mounts give the least obstructive mounting solution any way?
I suppose the next question is, do I look to sell my chassis and buy an adaptor chassis? Whilst I do intend to complete the build with the 4.6 RV8 / R380 as originally planned, I'm not convinced it'll be the long term solution.... perhaps an LS, Coyote or M57? 1985 127 V8 Build Thread Series 2 109" Series 1 80" |
