RFL pain
Yes we knew it was £460 (plus £2.50 credit card charge!!) to tax but it came with a year's RFL so this is the first time we've actually paid for it.

Yes we know they are expensive to tax but hitting that button still hurts. The same band as a 599GTO, a Veyron and a G55 AMG Merc but 122bhp and 0-60 in over 14 seconds. OUCHY OUCH OUCH.

Off to weep lightly into my chair. Big Cry Big Cry Defender 110XS SW gone... now VW California 180 4 Motion.

Thank You for contributing to the Country's ecomomy, and the upkeep of the roads etc...

Suggest you now buy one of these tax disk holders:

Defender "Puma" 2.4 110 County Utility (possibly the last of the 2.4's)

Road tax for a 110 Defender is almost £900 in Sweden, completely outrageous.

And yet the roads are immaculate. Admitedly twice the space for the same population and so the roads are less used. We're off to outside Dieppe on Friday. €7 each way for clear, smooth motorway all the 120 miles. That way we pay for what we're using.

I for one would like for Road Tax to be calculated in a more intelligent way, certainly taking account of emissions but also useage and perhaps other cars in the family.
