Disgusting.
As Moo says, very unlikely that there was absolutely no one who witnessed that occurring. |

Quite frightening in fact... obviously someone's pride and joy.
But, on a more pragmatic and less emotional note, do you think the insurance company would write it off as uneconomical to repair? A bean-counter might well argue that the replacement cost of new doors, (with all their electrics), bonnet, seats etc. is far more than the book-price of an old diesel truck? A good argument for agreed-value insurance, methinks... Peter |

absolute scum.
I often wonder what sort of mentality these people have and whether they know deep down that they they are dirty little pieces of and that society would generally like to see them castrated? or perhaps they think they're clever? perhaps a few of us should get together at these events and set up a 'sting' |

That's awful to see.
I attend the odd festival with my Defender and this is always my fear. Luckily camping I normally get to park it next to my huge festival bell tent. That's not often the case at big festivals though. |

I suspect large scale events like these are going to be easy targets for the organised gangs that carry out these thefts.
They know they've got a window of time, be it a couple of hours for a concert or 3 days at somewhere like Glastonbury, which is plenty of time to scope out their targets and arrive in a suitable vehicle with crew and tools. Stick on a hi-viz vest, flashing beacon on the top and to the passing glance its a breakdown, and most people wouldnt think twice. With the added fear of anything more prying might result in more aggressive responses, they'll probably be left to get on with it Sadly I also know of many euro box drivers being targeted at train station car parks as the gangs know they've got a good 8 hours whilst the owners at work. 2007 - Stornoway Grey 90 XS SW - Gone 2002 - Black Discovery II - Gone 2014 - Montalcino Red 110 XS SW |

The theft of four doors has been more than enough to write-off a Defender for some years now. |

it's such a shame to see these pictures.
I've got a couple of festivals coming up (including Camp Bestival) and we'll take our other car, even thought the Defender would otherwise be perfectly suited to the trip. Which is rather annoying! |

That is terrible I can’t imagine what the owner’s emotions would be like after the hike out of the festival back to their defender and seeing this Andy

How is there no security and how does no-one see any of this occurring given that they must have a large vehicle and a number of people ??

It does make me think about the wisdom of going to Billing this weekend in my defender. It’s not like they haven’t had theft issues before and I don’t think they are offering secure parking for defenders for day visitors. 90 - Gone but not forgotten

Its been 20 years since i went to Glastonbury but the car park is that vast you could strip and re-chassis a Defender and you would go unnoticed |
