Key thing I think would be to ensure you let the engine idle for a while if you've pulled into services from a motorway so the turbocharger can cool down while the oil is kept circulating.
I had a Defender which had 320,000 miles on the odometer and it ran beautifully. My current one needed a new turbocharger at 120,000 miles because the bearings had expired. Long distances / periods of driving are better because the fluids are hot and any moisture in the oil has long since boiled away. |
