A-plan have posted on here recently stating that if its a modified classic defender then they should be able to quote... (or that was my interpretation).

Not my experience Jerry, sadly.
Neither Bletchley nor there specialist group insurer based at Thatcham were prepared to quote. ***UPDATE*** Adrian Flux have quoted, beating my previous year’s premium with A-Plan. Chris |

The inconsistencies are strange. I renewed through A-Plan (now Howden) a few weeks ago, much the same premium as last year, same underwriter (KGM), same service from the Thatcham branch. I'd moved house and added further mods in the meantime. It feels like a bit of a lottery.

I believe I read that A-Plan will insure Defenders Pre<2011?

That's good news. Need to get onto Adrian Flux to get a quote. A-Plan could not re-quote as that did not know what "other" meant on the original quote, so needed clarification from me. It's a worry that they couldn't tell me what my modifications were, when I specifically told them a year ago. |
