They're not.
A few weeks back we were only getting post once a week. Now its three days (half of which goes straight into the recycling bin). Even the posties walking around mid morning are much fewer or certainly less noticeable. Apart from the increase in online or app based items that would have been posted in the past perhaps high prices and striking has finally caught up with them. So no e-bike vans or vegan uniforms just a plain old business in a downward spiral. |

Our postie is fantastic.
But it’s noticeable he isn’t in the village every day. Personally that doesn’t really bother me. I can’t think of anything I receive via post that is dependant on getting it next day (which is just as well). My opinion is the Government need to either subsidise a daily postal service or let Royal Mail reduce their delivery obligation. Three days a week would be more than enough for me. I get business owners might feel differently. |

I think most stuff is starting to go online based now, so the postie is doing less rounds now. Ours is only delivering me my bank statements and my parents the odd junk mail. Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

It is with trepidation that I see an envelop in the mailbox nowadays since typically it is an official speed or such fine, or tax related correspondence. With the amount of phony information I get on the same subject electronically, it is in a way reassuring to know that you only have to take note of the paper correspondence (France). Phone is going the same way. Can't remember I last answered a phone call of a number not in my address list. On the subject of cars you don't see on the road anymore, what about the P38! I have one of those and they were around in France in fairly big numbers, but becoming a classic quickly. |

Only got to drive an Omega once. It was a pretty high spec 2.5 litre version (it was my bosses). The company got two of the managers these cars. One Omega was a fantastic motor, the other a Friday afternoon model. It spent probably not much short of two years sitting in the local Vauxhall dealers workshop. Bit by bit they changed things until they finally got the thing to work. As it was on a three year lease, the other Manager bought it and went cash for cars and then ran it into the ground. It had very little mileage on it and once it got fixed, I don’t think it ever missed a beat again.
A car I would have liked to have owned. Always liked the look of the Omega. |
