Ok, so you do use autohold, but you still have to manually press the P before turning off the ignition?

It strikes me as obvious if I'm turning off the engine, I'm generally going to want it in P and the handbrake on. I appreciate in cases of recovering the vehicle, that's not correct, but it makes sense to me that the default is engine off = P + ((P)). Having to press a bunch of buttons to confirm the obvious doesn't make sense.

That’s exactly what happens

If you shut down the car the car will select P and engage the electric handbrake - you don’t need to press P or engage the handbrake

Today I tested the limits of lazy parking. I used adaptive cruise to pull to a halt behind a parked car without me touching the brake, then I switched off the ignition and walked away. The Def did it all - came to a stop, held the stop, applied the handbrake, changed into Park..
