This needs an anaerobic sealer fitted as itโs between two machined surfaces which is basically a cam bearing so nothing with any thickness. It cures in the absence of air. Something like: https://www.permatex.com/products/gasketin...ker-50-ml/ |

Hello,
I have always used Wellseal for this type of joint, I used it on my TD5 when fitting a new AMC head. The main reason is you don't want any squeeze out of the sealant that could find its way into the oil galleries.for longevity it never seems to completely dry out. Just paint it on the face for sealing leave a few minutes and assemble. Have used it with no problems for over 30 years, I was told it was originally developed for aircraft engines during WW2. Still use it on aviation engines to this day ๐ Edit: On the cam carrier joint not the head gasket joint. |
