Makita Impact - DTW1002
I just want to profess my love for this tool.

Replaced my A Frame pivot / fulcrum over the weekend, something I was dreading as I've heard the horror stores of trying to get it unbolted.

Opted for the Britpart 'genuine' assembly DA1129G - which to be fair was actually pretty decent.

Anyway, the alledged 1,600 nm of nut busting torque made replacing the fulcrum a piece of cake.

Drilled the long end off the split pin, so I could fit a socket of the castellated nut, hammered on the socket, added a universal joint and an extender, and then the just smashed off the nut, without removing the split pin.

All in, took me about 30 mins to remove and replace.

It's an expensive tool, but the money I've saved / will save on labour, pays for itself! 2011 CSW XS 90

There are Makita impacts and there are makita impacts. (Nut gun)

Sounds like you’ve got a good one. Mine is Censored , no power to it at all. Mine is 1/2” drive, don’t know model number, and at the time of buying was the only one instock. Always regretted buying it, and have seen others on youtube using Makita ones with success, so think the moral of my story is don’t just buy any Makita nut gun. Do research and buy a good one.

My 18v 1/2 inch Milwaukee impact wrench has paid for itself many times over on various vehicles including large stubborn nuts/bolts in awkward locations.
Having multiple torque settings comes in handy , especially with smaller fixings, as you can start at the lower setting and work your way up, thus reducing the risk of sheering a bolt.
I still clean threads and soak in penetrating oil such as plus gas and so far have always managed to remove every nut and bolt with relative ease, in particular ones that just felt they were going to shear when using a breaker bar.
