I’m after a bit of advice. I have corrosion on the A pillar/window frame, no doubt caused when the previous owner fitted the snorkel. I’m taking the snorkel off and want to treat the corrosion but will it be a simple matter of rub it all down, prime and spray? Or is there any other treatment that I should do to stop reoccurrence. I assume the frame is alloy?

Is the snorkel bracket stainless steel? Get that isolated (electrically), so use a rubber or plastic gasket between the bracket and the frame, and use Duralac or similar on the screws.
Unfortunately with alloy corrosion, it is very difficult to get it all gone before painting, so re occurrence is very likely. Get a stainless steel wire brush to work the corrosion out of the pits. I have also used synthetic wire brushes. Time will tell if they worked or not. Do you have corrosion going under the screen seal? 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing 2012 90 CSW, 2.2TDCI, Santorini Black |

Thanks both, the snorkel is going so I will need to plug the holes once I know what I’m dealing with. It all sounds doable, assuming the corrosion does not go y=under the seal, I don’t think it does but until I start prepping I guess I won’t know.
