I had my 105 done by buzzweld. They prepped and then applied their own products. Wasn’t mega cheap but was well done tbh.

Thanks, can’t beat an Alfa
Given yours is a fair bit newer I’m assuming it’s got underfloor panels and stuff which will restrict access? That lanolin spray stuff gets good reviews, or you could opt for the thin ML dinitrol stuff in clear blasted on by compressor. Good luck |

It has, although I’ve taken them off in prep for this job. I had thought of the lanoguard stuff, and was hoping someone on here had used it. To be honest, I don’t think any coating will be effective if I don’t do similar prep to what I would do to the defender. I don’t think I’ve got the time or the enthusiasm to maintain two cars in that way
I can see the merit in the ml and I’ve got some cans of that left over. 2002 110 td5 |

I think that realistically, if you don't do the prep then no product will work well.
Whilst I appreciate the relative difficulty of getting underneath, I'd suggest that there are fewer nooks and crannies on a car without a separate chassis and you may be pleasantly surprised at how much simpler it would be to treat. I think you might be right there. I’ve gone for the lanoguard on this occasion. I’m going to really enjoy spending the best part of a week under another one of my “classic” (old rusty) cars. 2002 110 td5

Hi all
Over the last few years I have switched to Lanoguard. Before applying I normally visit the local truck wash company and get them to hot wash the chassis and underside. Then I let it dry for a week before getting underneath with a wire brush. Then I treat any rust with Aqua Steel, let it cure for a few days before applying a good soaking of Lanoguard. The chassis and underside components really do look good after the process. Jim |
