Slight missfire ?
Wise ones

So I changed my cylinder head temp sensor to get rid of the diesel clatter and it worked fine, the only thing now is that the car seems to have a very slight "missfire" at around 1500 rpm, it's barely there and just feels like more of a hesitation/slightly rough spot. So what do we think it may be?, I'm going to let the local landie guy have a look but any pointers from you lot would be gratefully accepted. I'm also open to the idea that she just drives a bit differently as I'm guessing that she is now fuelling differently thanks to the new sensor.

Thanks

Quick guess, is that when the turbo starts to boost? Could be a split turbo hose. The ECU would expect to see a ride in manifold pressure but the split would vent it and it'd have to recalculate which gives that little hiccup. There are two hoses, one going into the intercooler and one coming out to theanifold. Both relatively easy to prod and poke and look for splits.

Have you a scanner, have you looked for any DTC’s ?

In addition to checking the hoses and hose clamps to and from the intercooler, check the intercooler seam on the bottom offside for the seam opening, you can generally see some soot marks.

Note: IC hose from turbo to IC can hole on its underside due to rubbing on steering column. You can see from under the vehicle with a torch.

Other things to check and clean. MAF and MAP sensor, the latter on the 2.4 can get very gummed up. Use a proper MAF cleaner, I.e Luqui moly.

Also check the turbo actuator and lube with light oil such as 3 in 1.

On a completely unrelated matter, check that your drivers side front wheel hasn’t lost its balance weights…… Oh woe, oh woe
