Sounds faulty to me.
I had to reverse up a steep road that was basically sheet ice a few months ago (driver coming up the hill in his van got stuck and slid back down and blocked the road). The 4WD worked flawlessly basically turning one wheel at a time without any interaction from me. I left it in Comfort Mode (I don't have Auto Terrain Response) as it was pitch black, I was late for a flight and couldn't remember how to get Low Traction Launch or any other fancy stuff! I learned my lesson and a couple of days later spent a good couple of hours selecting different programs and in and out of low ratio until I could do it all without having to think and stare at the screen. When I did the Landrover Experience Day in the Defender we spent most of it on Low Ratio but everything just worked. Defender D350 X-Dynamic HSE 110 MY25 Carpathian Grey |

The vehicle has only done 3,000 miles. l am not sure if there's any way to test it, there's no warnings on the dash.
If it was only in 2WD wouldn't you get the warning come up? How could l test the 4WD? Perhaps l need to find another muddy field! |

I'm no expert but there is a diff lock between the front and rear axles as standard. If you bring up 4WD in the IDD it will show whether this is locked or not. I suspect that in Comfort it is only unlocked and therefore the rear wheels will spin. If you had selected an off-road mode, then diff lock should have allowed the power to go to the front wheels (I think!).

You could well be correct.
l'll try it again tomorrow, there's a local farmer that l know, will let me on his land. l will report back when l've tried it out. |

The center locker works in comfort mode. If it’s anything, it’s not that. Even if it didn’t lock, TC would kick in after the wheels slip.

Yes you definitely get a warning, my 90 had issues with 2WD warnings popping up on the dash, though it was in 4WD. 24MY 90 D250 HSE, Tasman Blue |
