L316 Puma 110 - Location of telematics device
Good morning all

I have been with an insurance company that uses a telematics device attached to the battery on my Puma 110 for the past 4 years.

A month ago they informed me that they are no longer able to detect a GPS signal probably because the device is faulty. The telematics box has now been replaced twice on 2 separate installations and they are still unable to detect a signal. The installer now wishes to try somewhere else in the vehicle even though the first device worked fine sitting on the battery under the front passenger seat.

Appreciate recommendations for the location of the telematics device that would involve the least amount of changes to the wiring and offer the best possible signal strength please.

I am not interested in hiding the telematics box (I already have 2 trackers), just a location that would involve the least amount of effort for the installer and optimise the signal strength.

Installers often go for the easy option and fit them beneath the blanking plate on the driver’s side wing.
