2007 Defender 90 Puma 2.4 CSW Zermatt Silver

Steering damper relocated?

Hi all

A friend has recently purchased a 1996 300Tdi.

When I looked at it the other day I noticed that the steering damper is behind the front axle rather than the normal in front?

What would be the reason for this?

Discos had them behind the axle, has the damper mounted on the bottom of the diff to the track rod

No massive benefit from having it there.

We used to fit twin dampers one in the RRC/D1 position and another in the normal Defender position

Probably a discovery 1 axle and or steering rods.
