We don't have a drivelodge, but a lot of our friends in the Overland Adventure Club do and have been all across Europe and beyond. They are really nicely made and certainly will stand up to anything you can throw at it.
The only reason we didn't go with one was that we have a sunroof & alpine windows and it was getting a bit complicated working around everything. In hindsight I wish I went with the drivelodge, I really like how they keep the original profile of the roof too. We contacted Dormobile at the same time and they took months to get back to us (we had already had ours converted when they got back). They didn't seem very interested when we spoke to them (and it cost a small fortune). I think both are great - comes down to personal preference on looks and how you want to use it. |

There are some German pop up roofs using just a frame and the old roof with its lining, sunroof etc remains unchanged. They just add that frame where you have the bolted joint (roof - sidewall). Therefore you have an option to go back on the original config in future. |
