Retrofitting a heated Alcantara Steering Wheel
Hoping to see if anyone else has tried this before and if they can point me in the right directions for part numbers.

I currently have a ‘22 X-Dynamic HSE without a heated steering wheel and I’m looking to upgrade. I’ve reached out to powerfuluk’s support to see if they could point me in the right direction (especially since I’d be buying the wheel from them), and they were pretty unhelpful as far as part numbers go.

This is what they said:

If upgrading from non-heated non-paddle to heated non-paddle shift, you will need a heated wheel wiring loom (without paddle shift connectors), heated slip ring, heated wheel and switch pack with heated wheel switch. You will also need to update the vehicle's CCF software.


Unfortunately they can’t/won’t share part numbers for the “heated slip ring” and don’t know what the distinction between a heated “switch pack” and the one I have is (since it already has the button, it’s just not lit up).

I have the GAP tool, so feel hopeful I can enable it once I have it installed.

Hoping someone here can point me in the right direction!

Powerful do offer an upgrade kit for the Evoque, so I used the part numbers listed there to try and find some equivalents for the Defender.

There's a parts diagram here for the Defender steering wheel here:

This lists the heated steering wheel, a loom and a switch. There are multiple variants for each, so you'd need to make sure you choose the right one.

The "heated slip ring" seems to be called a "clockspring", of which there are four variants:

There are two "heated" ones - one for cars with fog lights and one for those without.

I got it done a little while ago, had the paddleshifters added too. Can point you in the right direction.
