Ventilation fan excessive noise and vibration
2020 Defender: The ventilation fan has suddenly become excessively noisy and is vibrating heavily drowning out diesel engine noise. Vibrations can be felt through both accelerator, brake pedals and dashboard. I have been to the dealer today and its still not fixed. They are ordering a new motor and want to book the car in for two days under warranty to pull the dash board apart to gain access to the ventilation system. (not looking forward to rattles after various plastic clips are broken.)
Unfortunately no space at the workshop with loan car until January 12th. Just hope the thing doesn't self combust in the meantime. 2020 Defender 110 SE 240D: Fuji White.

lt's the first failure of that type l've heard of.

l don't know if the whole dash has to come out, or just the lower part, but heater fan motors are rarely easy to access. Hopefully the dealer will do a good job of it and any broken clips etc will be replaced

Replacement fan motor installed under warranty. It was only at the dealership for 5 hours before I got a call to say all is well again. Dealership wanted it in for two days just in case they ran into problems. Fortunately none. Vehicle rattle free as well. Happy to have it back.! 2020 Defender 110 SE 240D: Fuji White.
