Does anyone know if there is a way to disable the folding mirrors ?

Yes me too, although the mechanism managed to overcome and shatter the ice it sounded bad.

l would also be interested in finding out how to disable the folding mirrors, it can't be good for the mechanism trying to strain against a frozen mirror

I think you press both buttons together to disable power fold. Could be wrong though. 24MY 90 D250 HSE, Tasman Blue

Read it before I got the 90 2 years ago, in fact that’s all I had to look at through the pandemic as LR cancelled the 90. 24MY 90 D250 HSE, Tasman Blue

You need to manually fold the mirrors in before you lock it:
Quote:
GARAGE MODE:
If the door mirrors are folded when the vehicle is locked, the mirrors do not unfold when the vehicle is unlocked. Garage mode prevents the mirrors from being damaged when unfolding, e.g., in a tight garage spot. If the mirrors remain folded, they automatically unfold when the vehicle exceeds 40 km/h (25 mph).

I think it's reference to the 2 buttons that are for the mirror adjustment, manual fold unfold as per manual pointed to above

To me though that doesn't fix the problem ? The problem we have are that the mirrors are frozen closed. So what we are looking for is to leave them unfolded when locked

If they're frozen closed then you have the opportunity to de-ice them before allowing them to unfold. Darren
