My first land rover

Well I have my first land rover!!! Some better pictures as soon as it's a little muddy.

Very happy so far (Only been a week!!)

I'm sure I'll have lots of questions over the course, so I'll be annoying many of you soon!!

Any other DC owners have any advice, suggestions etc for additions, kit.

The one thing I have noticed is the lack of a boot as such. How do you guys get around that, I boughs a couple of pairs of running trainers today but had no were to store them out of sight.

I have a couple of additions I would like to add...

New steering wheel (when I figure out fitting)

Rock tree sliders

Swing away spare wheel carrier

Security cubby box

A Bar with driving lights..it's supposed to have the soft one but it's missing

mmm I'm sure theres more!!

Thanks for looking Very Happy Very Happy

I massively improved my 110s turning circle with 3cm wheel spacers each side and adjusted steering stops - but then I only run on 235s. Just a thought... Tell someone you love them today because life is short.
But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing...

Hi, welcome to the forum.

Just out of interest what were you driving before and what persuaded you to go for a Defender?

Hey,

I still have an Audi A4 but I had a 1976 HJ60 landcruiser a few years back when I was in Oz & always wanted to get 4x4 again.

I started looking at Discoveries, the RR & RR Sport then defenders & after a test drive I just decided you only live once!!

Rolling with laughter

Good choice fella.....we need more DC's on here Thumbs Up

Not gotten round the lack of boot problem myself, just have a plastic crate/box on the floor in front of the rear seats to put everyday stuff, then put a folded up sheet over anything thats in it. I think some on here have devised storage to go under the rear seats, which keeps it out of sight, but you'd have to search for it.

I've put an IW top on mine (with padlocks) for a little extra security in the load space, but as soon as funds permit, I'll be looking to buy one of the Patriot security cages so I can get my Wendy house back on there Smile

Oh yes, and a spare wheel carrier to free up some more room too!

Enjoy!

I absolutely love DCs! Shame they don't quite fit our needs. Defender 110XS SW gone... now VW California 180 4 Motion.

I quite agree!

I can't explain why but I just like the DC. I've seen some very nice kit ached to the back too, lots of custom bars or canopies.

I was looking t under the rear seats, not sure I could make anything that secure though. I'll probably get a secure cubby for bits & bob, mind the present one took a small shopping bag of bits today but it's only wood & non lockable.

I looked at the draw for the tub but then I saw the price Big Cry

DOTE.. they do have limitations

Hi, very nice DC. Welcome to Defender ownership Thumbs Up

We had a DC and had the Patriot cage under a mohair tilt - worked very well.

We also had the MSS drawer in the back - pricey but very good for secure storage. Put it on your Christmas list Laughing
