Chile 2007 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 SW Chawton White
After 3000 km
Evident signs of wear just after 3000 km and filter change. Using a 20x handlens I culd not see deep scratches but only wear. Also looks like this little piston is not totally cylindrical due to either design or poor machining. This one supposed to be an original part, but who knows since most Denso parts nowadays are counterfit.

Is the vcv valve on the 2.4 dismantable..
I've seen vids where a small clip in the base allows removal of the valve plunger this but on the one on my 2.2 I'm pretty sure it's a sealed unit..
I think I'd have to destroy it to get at the plunger

Indeed it is. A bush mechanic would polish it with 1000-2000 grit or turn the plunger inside. Puma 110" SW
