Open hole !!!!
Been installing diff guards this morning and noticed an open threaded hole . Is this normal or am I missing a plug.
Planning on going laning so anticipating some water high up that area

Look for wading plug locations for your vehicle. Find out the thread size as you may be able to find suitable ones at a plumbers merchant but if not I am sure they will be available via ebay etc

Alternatively pick some up from a land rover parts stockists (not landrover!).

Found a radiator valve that fits !!!
Should it normally be open and just put something in it when wading ?

I believe only when wading so don't fit them when not needed!

On TD5-era vehicles the plug is normally fitted…

…but if you look carefully at the photo you can see a little oblong drain slot right next to it, so it doesn’t really matter if you fit the plug or not.

Oops! As I have a 300tdi I presumed they were similar so my apologies for giving the wrong information. I live and learn.
