4 year service
My Heritage 110 had its 4 year service yesterday. She has done 16k miles and there was nothing to report. The fuel breather pipe was fixed without dropping the tank too. She now just needs a very good clean and a trip to Zagato for chassis treatment....

I've just re-read the Zagato post for the umpteenth time. It's a damn good read for anyone wanting to protect their bits down below. Defender 90XS SW

I sold the Heritage yesterday. The car I intended to keep for the long haul. A sad day but a combination of things came together which made it make sense. The uncertainty around the timescales the impact of the virus will have is the main issue. I'm due to start a new job in April for a business to business services company doing coffee / washrooms / aircon. With lots of people working at home revenue is falling off a cliff, and if it continues there won't be a role to go to. After 4 years of fun off she went for about a third more than paid for, which is scant consolation. Lots of happy memories, but just now Mrs H isn't speaking to me Big Cry

The P38 is at the menders and when I pick that up I'll be dropping the 90 off for some tlc too, so I'm not without, just without the one that makes everyone smile.

Take it easy,

I hope the new job works out for you. Everyone is hoping and praying that Covid19 is soon brought under control and normal life will quickly resume. In the meantime enjoy your 90 and the P38. All the best for the future. Defender 90XS SW

At least you put some miles on her and had some memorable trips.

We sold ours at 450 miles, but I don't regret it now. Much happier with my lookee likee Utility Wagon. Current Steeds:

I shall miss it, but I won’t miss the upkeep. Despite my best efforts with wax / ACF50 / garaging etc the paint was bubbling again around the windscreen, the second set of steps were rusting through, the wheels had to be repainted, and the rear cross member was starting to bubble under the rear tub.

In time I’ll look for another 110, but one that can live out, have a roof rack on, be used and abused every day. An Epsom green TD5 would do nicely. In time.

Bought Dec 15, kept off road for the worst of the winter, dinitrolled then brought out for the spring, used a couple of months, school run etc.

To be honest, we were a bit disappointed with aspects of it, then prices started to rise and the decision was made. After they started to sell for £45K+, I just felt it was too valuable to use properly and we were just looking after it for the next owner. Sold it in August to a collector who was too busy to collect it until Feb 17...

Now very happy with my modified utility, sailed through 2nd MoT today at 46,256 miles

You sold at the right time, prices have fallen in many places due
to the new "Low Emissions Zones" springing up everywhere. Round here prices have definitely fallen for Defender TDCi's of all types.

Fortunately mine is a TD5 SW and as a "car" it's currently exempt from the Manchester LEZ
