Dave,
28¼ inches to the roof plus 1 inch if you get an early external ribbed roof. HTH Mo The Land Rover 90 - Many are called, few are chosen. 50 Shades of Pennine Grey |

Much appreciated Mo.
That’s a shame looks like it won’t fit then. I reckon it’d lower the 1/4inch with the additional weight on the back, plus I could consider alive comfort springs so not all lost. Something to think about. Thanks for confirming. |

My 90 is on worn 235/85 tyres but also replaced the rear springs with NRC2119 and sits at 77 1/4” from the ground to the roof. Note that mine is a CSW so a tad heavier on the rear as I measured 1” lower compared to a HT with same springs on the rear.
http://red90.ca/rovers/springinfo.html Keep in mind that you will be adding the roof, sides, rear door, spare wheel, perhaps a spare wheel carrier.. those add up. 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing 2012 90 CSW, 2.2TDCI, Santorini Black |

Am I right in saying that NRC2119 should be a 1” lift as well? That’s promising if so.

No, because NRC2119 has a softer spring rate, so will compress more and will sit a bit lower even though it is 1” longer (free length) compared to default HT springs.
They will also give you a softer ride when unladen. If you are planning to load the rear a lot, maybe those springs are too soft. 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing 2012 90 CSW, 2.2TDCI, Santorini Black |

No idea if this will work for you but i get my 90 into my garage with an up and over door with some modifications.
I (with a second pair of hands) moved the frame up as far as i could, about an inch and a half. I then cut the top edge off the fibre glass door where it wraps around the frame (as it was catching) The door handle shaft on the inside (with the three latch cables connected to the plastic inner handle, i cut the shaft down and then re-tapped it so to re-attached the inner handle. I then attached a rubber strip along the bottom edge to prevent leaves and the wind blowing through in the winter. The result is that the 90 is hidden from view over night and when we are away. One the door runner, closest to the door, i have drilled a hole and fit a padlock to it so the door cannot be forced open from the outside. My 90 is on 265's, a two inch lift and a roll cage, just to make my life easy...... I hope that this helps in some way Good luck Click image to enlarge |

I got a friends 90 HT to try before I took delivery of my 90. The up and over door handle spigot had 1/4" clearance at best. Too tight for comfort. So I changed the garage door to a roller shutter door. Now 3" + clearance. Might just be easier to change the door. I think it was about £600 all in fitted. So in the great scheme of things not too much to get the 90 in the garage and secure.

Thanks that’s very useful as I’ve been looking at the frame wondering if it was raisable so good to know it’s potentially doable. I’ve bought a roof etc to collect next weekend hopefully so that can be this week’s project. Rolling door is a nice idea too if all else fails. Can’t believe how many genuinely useful responses I’ve had on this and my other thread, what a nice forum this is! |
