Hello folks,
Has anybody cancelled their order and had their deposit refunded, please? My wife paid a deposit for us ages ago but we've decided not to order and asked for it to be returned. They seem to be playing hard to get, though. Despite a phone call and several emails, we can't get a response and I wondered how others have faired? Yeah, that's what she started with but after no response has since tried calling and email. Despite promises that it would be returned, it still hasn't turned up and more recently hasn't been able to get through at all. Darren

Well I hope not but that's why I'm trying to find out if it's a common problem or not. I expect it's just incompetence but if it is more widespread then alarm bells start ringing. Darren

As someone on Landroverworld has pointed out - interest-free loan for any car company putting out requests for refundable deposits. There's a quite a few EV start-ups doing it in the US. Now left.

Darren, which deposit is this, an initial interest one (which is supposed to be refundable) or the actual order one (which is not refundable)? I'm assuming it's the former, but just checking. Now left.

Both initial £450 and 2nd £2,050 requested when placing an order are fully refundable. Where do you get this rubbish from? Hi All
I realised that the Grenadier wasn't for me due to the weight and CO2 emissions. I requested my £450 deposit back and it was back in my credit card account within 2 days. Well done Ineos. I wish them all the best with this vehicle and I'm only sorry it's too thirsty for me. |

Thanks, Popski. That's kind of how we expected it to go. As it happens, my wife managed to get through to them this afternoon but the person she spoke to was unhelpful in a bewildered kind of way. She was told the Finance Director would call her back, which sounds very unlikely and so the saga continues Darren

Requested a refund on 3rd May using the icon link on my Ineos account. Received e mail with a case number from customer services stating they would be in touch. Further e mail received 2 hours later with a new case number stating refund would be with me within 14 days. Received funds next day.
Good luck with the "Finance Director". Keep it simple - poverty spec. |

I requested a refund of the £450 deposit on 4th April, got a customer services email the same day, promising refund within 14 days, got the money back 3-4 days later.

Time for a letter to Ineos. Give them a date for the refund and then mention any days past this date incur a £50 admin fee/per day and if they fail to give a refund by the date then they agree to paying the admin fee 1999 Defender TD5 110
