Hello,
I have a 2016 Defender 110 Puma with some modifications such as tune with egr closed via software and decat pipe. Would MOT be a problem, I am thinking of importing this car from my country to my holiday home in the UK? Additionally If I replace the decat with another version which is a decat shell will it solve MOT problems? Thank you in advance, |

Question was not meant to agitate, as the only reason for changing the CAT/DPF is for more stress free ownership and not having DPF and Catalytic convertor problems.
Additionally a quick search of google, similar questions where raised by your own national's and a more laid back response was given this forum and others. As to breaking laws, the head of your government Mr Boris Johnson would probably be more of a concern hosting private parties during lockdown and is a prime example of breaking the law. EGR close wont be picked up
but the lack of a DPF and CAT probably will depending on the vigilance and knowledge of the tester, have you still got the original bits that you could refit DEFENDER 90 TDCI XS, I hope everyone is well and your land rovers make you happy |

Decat shell should be ok - depends on how vigilant the test station are. Rgds.

In my experience it won’t be a problem at all. But you should have all these items to comply to the rules. So if you import the vehicle, bring the removed items, but then find a friendly workshop, and carry on storing the parts.

Thank you for the replies,
For the DPF to work properly the car has to see highway drive of 40 minutes once in a while? |

The DPF regen is not related to time, but engine temp + pressure drop across the filter + speed: only if the parameters are meet a DPF regen will occur. (or thats how I understand it works on the 2.2 puma).
The manual states if short journeys are undertaken, the DPF may light amber, if that is the case then regen is requred : high range, main road or mororway (40-70 mph (64-113 km/h)) for 20 minutes or more; when regen is complete DPF light will extinguish. In the 3 years of having my 2.2 puma never had the DFP light or any issues with the DPF Zaid-M www.DefencePhotos.com 2014 Defender 110 Utility, 2.2 Puma, Indus Silver Not just transport more like a religion |

It will really depend on the certificate of conformity and how much the person inspecting cares.
