The following messages were sent from my daughter today. She is studying Speech and Language to work with people with special needs on their communication skills. Her remit will also cover stroke victims and those with speech difficulties in general. She had her first day at placement today. It will be a six week stint. Her final year of study will be next year. Anyway this is what she sent today.
"Today was very different from anything I've seen before, I was with a woman who works with people who work with adults with learning difficulties who have mental health issues or are known by the police She makes sure people like the clinical psychologist or social workers are using an appropriate level of language so their client can understand them.
