I really like the Drivelodge price, only downside is the lack of roof-rackery that will result in having one.
Poppin rovers seems good, but I'd need to find a shed to do it in... especially one where it's taken on with the understanding that it should only be a weekend or 2's job for a normal person, but it'll take me 5 months because I'll ![]() So then xvx seems good as does alucab, but v spendy... ![]() Youtube - https://www.youtube.com/@YetitheDefender Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/yetithedefender/ |

Some of the European ones do look good, but the added hassle of exchange rate, tax and duty etc puts me right off. And then what happen if there are issues and it needs to go back?
So for me, if I get a lottery win it's Alucab' if not it's Poppin Rovers. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS |

Mick at Pennine Overland (https://www.lrbits.co.uk/) has a roof rack that goes around the edge of the Drivelodge. It allows easy fixing of awnings etc and a great pull out rear awning. He has also got some brackets that allow the quick fixing of roof bars over the top to allow you to carry lightish loads. You cant open the roof when they are on but for carrying kayaks etc they work well and only take a few minutes to unclip and then raise the roof. Its a good solution for occasional roof rack needs but not if you want to have anything permanently fixed to the roof. Stuff I used to have on the roof for longer trips now goes in a bonnet bag and rear wheel bag. ![]() Click image to enlarge ![]() Click image to enlarge |
