Looks like a great trip.

We set off to paddle 300km through the Delta last year from Shakawe down to Maun.
8 days in we ran into issues with the water levels and couldn't get any further so had to get helicoptered in the last 50 or 60km

The lack of water had led to some large concentrations of hippo in the channels we were trying to get through and we got charged numerous times. We ended up having to get out and carry the boats around most of them. The elephants using the narrow channels to get around weren't too impressed with us being there!

We camped all the way down and the noise at night was fantastic, as were the skies!!

No idea, when we were there I thought it was a bone - they had brought down a wildebeest that very morning. But zooming in now, it looks more like a plant/root.

I'll eventually get around to making a YT video of the whole trip.

six year self-drive Southern Africa

Hi Naks, having travelled around Southern Africa over the last six years (on and off) in our 2008 td4, we can appreciate the quality of your photos and video.
We were in Botswana and Zimbabwe in November last year and had never seen it so dry. We have just got back from Namibia, where it has rained so much that bridges have been washed out and dams have been filled to the brim. Everything is so green now!
