Cost to service?
How much are people paying for the annual service on the new Defender? l probably wouldn't want to take it anywhere else (other than the main dealer) so could do with having some idea of the annual service cost.

I believe a standard oil/filters service is around £500. 2008 2.4 110 Utility Station Wagon XS.

This might help… the service intervals are 24mnts or 21k on the current Defender so I have calculated services at 21k per year. (These are accumulative and +vat main dealer prices)

lf l read the above correctly

12 month service is £280
24 month service is £657
36 month service is £1,500 😬
48 month service is £1,800 😳

Or are they cumulative figures, meaning the total service spend after 4 years is £1800?

Can't find out online, LR offers a "service plan" but you have to enter your registration number.

l tried with the reg numbers on a couple of new model Defenders l found on here but it just said "we cannot locate your vehicle"

Yes circa £1800 total over 4yrs if doing 21k per year or 8yrs if done on time (4 scheduled services) . So to establish each service cost take the previous years total off.

LR intervals are every 21K or 24mnths which ever is sooner.

Sorry the picture is a screen dump off my laptop so not very clear. I manage a 100K+ fleet of utility vehicles currently so use market software to establish and forecast service and maintenance costs. For every make model and mileage variation we run.

These are average costs across the country for LR franchised dealers on the current defender model selected, although it is the same for many Defender derivatives. Ride like you stole it!!

It’s a XC60 D4, be careful with the D5 they have problems with the power pulse pipes which keeps blowing off. My D4 is now 4 years old with zero problems, don’t know why I’m going to a defender, it’s my heart ruling my brain having had 4 LR vehicles in the past.. 110 XS 250 MY 23 Gondwana Stone, Cold climate pack and towbar

That’s what I had before the one I have now. It was a XC60 D5 brilliant engine again not a single problem. The only thing to watch out on the XC90 is that the 4wd works. The Haldex drive can be a problem, drive on gravel and boot it and make sure all 4 wheels spin. 110 XS 250 MY 23 Gondwana Stone, Cold climate pack and towbar

In strayleur 🇦🇺 an interim oil + oil and air filters at 6 months cost me $330 at the
main dealers, about 160 of her majesty’s finest pounds. I had the major service at
12 months done under a corporate service plan which means it is free, however I was told
to expect a similar cost if I had to pay as our RRS, equivalent of approx 600 pounds.
Next annual will be at my expense as I was informed only 2 major services are free over
the initial 5 years yet another pommie bar steward down under
