interesting. I always using 'ultimate' fuel, yes it's more expensive but I do believe its money well spent. I don't suppose for a moment you use the same more expensive fuel do you? |

Ianh- great and comprehensive advice. I may look at getting an Egr valve if it happens again. I also have very recently read the egr and Dpf are both necessary on a 2.2tdci.
Caterham- nope, I’m a cheapskate and use supermarket fuel. |

I must say I've been finding this interesting as I have been doing too many short journeys recently (working from home). I've never added anything into the fuel and have been reading up on this. I don't use supermarket fuel but use "branded" fuel stations regular diesel. I've just ordered the following as a preventative maintenance measure:
Millers Oils Diesel Power Ecomax Fuel Additive Treatment Millers Oils DPF Diesel Particulate Filter Cleaner and Regenerator Millers Diesel Injector Cleaner I do not currently have any problems in my 2.2. We'll see if I notice any improvement but at least using the ecomax additive on a regular basis should keep the the limp mode away Thanks for the recommendations, Chris |
