Auxiliary Gauges Help
Does anyone have any experience with fitting digital oil pressure and water temperature gauges to a Td5?

I’ve had some extra gauges fitted and they’re not all reading as they should.

Boost and EGT are spot on.

Water temp is reading 95-115°C consistently. I’m going to compare this against my Nanocom to see if the engine is running hot or the gauge is misreading. If it is just misreading, would it be a simple case of a new sensor?

My oil pressure gauge has a mind of its own. On start-up it gives a semi-reasonable figure, before just dropping off. Driving yesterday it had a total fit, going negative at points. So I know it isn’t actually poor pressure. Will it be a case of replacing the sender?

Finally, my CAI/Smiths Td5 tacho is indicating an engine rpm that is always about 250rpm above what is actually happening. So idle is showing 1,000rpm, not ~750rpm. Ideas on how to calibrate this?

Thanks in advance! Bow down Charlie

How about using an OB2 reader and a free program like Turbo - lite ??
I know that this works with a puma but may also work with TD5 ...

The gauges are fitted now, and I’d quite like to get them working. I know others have had success.

I have a sneaking suspicion Td5s aren’t OBD2 compatible . . . Charlie
