Heater intake drain grommet
Hi all, washed the Defender this morning and thought it was a good idea to clear the drain in the wing heater air intake, sure enough it was blocked and was holding quite a bit of water, cleared it my usual way by poking it through with finger, unfortunately the whole thing popped out and cannot seem to re attach it in the hole as the access is awkward.

Question, is it really necessary, presumably LR put it in for a reason Question it certainly will now be much less likely to block up now though!

Thanks

Mike

It stops fumes being drawn in from the engine bay so yes, ideally it should be in place. Darren

Taken mine out of the three Defenders I’ve had without problem. Fumes come out the exhaust.

Likewise, I've never had trouble with fumes. Throw it away and never have to clear it out again !

I managed to squeeze it back in with a bit of patience and some long nose pliers.
