yes that is a bit dissapointing as previous (and very recent) comms from them were "around £45k inc VAT and a bit less for the commercial variants"
now its 48k for bare bones and basically mid 50's for the others! |

Wondering why these details were released for Oz but no mention for UK?
"The Grenadier will come with a five-year/unlimited kilometre warranty in Australia and New Zealand, along with a five-year service plan to lock in ownership costs." https://www.whichcar.com.au/news/australia...-grenadier It's a poorly written piece so I hope they have also got this wrong: "A four-door double-cab pick-up will follow in a few years’ time."
Have there actually been any photos of this version?
But the Oz pricing comes out closer to the previous statements? 84, 500.00 AUD = 45, 257.26 GBP |

UK will get its pricing and servicing details at the live event 19:00 today. I expect very similar numbers will be presented. 1995 Defender 110 CSW

I think Autocar have already spilled the barebones...
and a few more snippets from Top Gear: "Prices for the Ineos Grenadier will start at around £48,000. That’s for a two-seat commercial version with blacked out rear windows. Five seat versions, both commercial and passenger, will be around £5,000 more. Those prices include VAT." "...even basic versions of the Grenadier will be well equipped... and the options will be sensibly priced and straightforward with no complex packs. “You will not need to add tens of thousands to get what you want”, says head of sales and marketing Gary Pearson." "In the UK there will be 23 sales and service locations, plus another 12 service-only centres." "the firm will collect and drop back for servicing, and there will be ‘flying spanners’ for remote areas." "US sales aren’t part of this initial role out – they’ll start in 2023." https://www.topgear.com/car-news/suvs/ineo...st-ps48000 "The vehicle will also launch in parts of Africa and the Middle East in 2022." https://europe.autonews.com/automakers/ine...nadier-suv Something to like: "But customers will also have access to digital 3D instruction manuals so that owners who like 'tinkering' – as it believes many of its buyers do - can also do their own thing: 'Enthusiasts, modifiers and those who wish to work on their own vehicles will benefit from specialist technical support from Ineos HQ, and will have access to online interactive 3D workshop manuals and parts catalogues.'" "Once the network is set up, most customers will never be further than around 30 miles from an accredited workshop." "There will be simplified part-exchange and financing arrangements." 'Customers will be able to take the Grenadier for on- and off-road test drives – sometimes for days at a time - to help them get a feel for the vehicle on their local tracks, trails or dunes. 'Coming back muddy is encouraged.' https://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/cars/a...ORROW.html |

And a completely different type of vehicle... It's like comparing a Fiesta to a Volvo estate. Darren

In your opinion, the 2 door Grenadier is a completely different vehicle from the 2 door Wrangler? Seriously? Now left.

Compare their towing and load capabilities and the difference is clear, or at least I through it was. The Jeep is a lifestyle/leisure vehicle whilst the Grenadier is aiming to be much more than that. Darren

Darren, I've just come from a forum where the only comment was "In terms of pricing they seem to have aimed it squarely at the Jeep Wrangler". I don't know what to say to you - as far as I'm concerned, Ineos are going after the original Defender sector...which includes the Wrangler. Although I would agree that the 4-door Grenadier is aimed at a particular market, I don't feel there is any way that you can say that the 2 door at £48,000 and the Wrangler are "completely different vehicles"!
But each to his own. Now left. |

From the Autocar piece above: "First customer deliveries will get under way in the final quarter of 2022, and the company envisages an eventual annual sales peak in the UK of 6000 units, skewed towards commercial variants." Not sure how many commercial variants of the Wrangler are on the road in the UK? |

Probably only as many as there are commercial new Defenders or commercial Jimnys!
So what are we saying here, that the Grenadier is in a sector all of its own? That it has no rivals? If you read the forum comments on other sites, you'll see it can't be compared to a Defender anymore, nor the Bronco (lifestyle), some here say it most definitely can't be compared to a Rivian (EV)...and not to a Unimog. So is it just the G Wagon? Or not that either? From reading Autocar, it agrees with you about the Wrangler, and says it's pick up trucks that rival the Grenadier. https://www.autocar.co.uk/opinion/new-cars...r-defender If that's true, then Ineos is in trouble, as the Hi-Lux starts way below at £28,000. Now left. Last edited by What puddle? on 29th Sep 2021 1:06pm. Edited 1 time in total |

Do they actually do a commercial Wrangler? Cheapest I can see on their site is over £49 for the 2 door swb. £51 for the 4 door. Grenadier won't be launching in swb form so looks like it's coming in cheaper than the Jeep.
Also I believe Grenadier has got a 1000kg higher towing capacity than the Jeep (3.5t vs 2.5t). Please correct me if I'm wrong. https://instagram.com/bentheoandrews |

I think it depends on what you call commercial. The 2 door Wrangler is very small in the back, I think you can get a family size packet of crisps in there. But it doesn't look like the 2 door Grenadier is going to be huge, either.
You can get Wranglers on the discount websites for as little as £42,000 - still any colour or trim you like, and same delivery times. I would be interested to know which appeals to you more, a Hi Lux or a Grenadier? Now left. |
