Greetings gentlemen,
my 2015 heater valve was giving me a bit of grief back in about March, as it would not completely close and shut off the heat. So I ordered up the eBay special for ca 26 euros and all was well. For a time. The new heater valve has begun to leak after only a few months, so I ordered a new one locally: https://www.thansen.no/bil/bildeler/vannst...pn1086461/ Installed, started up, immediate leakage. Pulled it back off, and compared to the old "new one", they have the same numbers printed moulded in, even in the same font. The only difference is the new "new one" also has OSSCA moulded on it. Sigh. I can get the LR version for 5 times more money with the metal plate that I don't need, or I can get the IVECO 77363342 version, or the Fiat 77363342 version, or the Citroen 6448.P6 version. Problem is, I have no confidence in this terribly manufactured part. I'm 0 for 2 in finding a replacement that doesn't leak at the seams. Rant over. Any ideas for a heater valve that doesn't leak are appreciated. PS - I would happily reinstall my original factory valve that does not leak, but keeps the heat on, but it is 2000km away from where I am now. Roaming around 🇳🇴🇨🇠|

I’ve purchased two valves but yet to fit one. After some research and not being able to find a denso ( OEM to Lr) one I went on autodoc ,via the Citroen part number, and purchased ones sold by an Italian company called Impergom , autodoc list the seller as Imperium. Just search on the Citroen part number. They look as good as the denso but I won’t know until I fit one of them. So not much help I’m afraid.
Re your original problem with original valve not fully closing, see this thread as a solution https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic78660.html?highlight=spring It would be great if one of the companies who design improved versions of defender parts, such as Optimill or design & development engineering etc could come up with a robust solution that works as it should. I’m sure owners would pay a reasonable price for a fit and forget solution that does what it says on the tin. |
