Hi,
If you have a twin battery setup, where have you good folk installed your battery monitors, and has it worked for you? Any photos? I'm thinking we won't need to monitor while we're driving, but also wouldn't want to have to open seat box either. I read on here a suggestion of side of cubby and the dash, but not seen any photos. Cheers, Matt |

I've got a simple volt meter on a push-to-make button in the rear of my 110 to check the state of the second battery. I don't see the point in monitoring whilst driving either.

I have the NL battery controller mounted horizontally on the lower front side of the cubby box. Wire routes to the back and into the seat box where the relay is.
sorry no photo yet ![]() |

Here‘sa quick one (LHD driver‘s side). Forgot to say the cubby is raised due to a heater underneath. Not sure how it‘ll work without.
I found this position ideal because I don‘t like having too many dials etc in view (even if switched off) but if needed I can still look at it while driving. I found this is not a device you need to see or operate very often. It‘s also accessible while camping, either through the door or from the back. ![]() Click image to enlarge |

I have the HBC BM2000 with a Cyrix-ct and chose not to mount it. The cable is quite long. It usually stays in the cubby out of site but when I am using accessories more intensively (like the fridge in summer) I leave it next to the seat where I can see it.

I am thinking of a monitor myself, mostly because I work a lot out of my Defender and charge batteries and an inverter from my second battery. So I am thinking about a Victron Smart meter BMV-712; https://www.victronenergy.com/battery-monitors/bmv-712-smart The benefit would be being bale to check the batteries on my phone without having to mount the gauge somewhere really obvious. Best I have found that would be convenient and do the job well. |
